Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as Sensex rises
DCM Shriram Industries Ltd.(up 6.05%), Ugar Sugar Works Ltd.(up 1.99%), Avadh Sugar & Energy Ltd.(up 1.65%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)Ltd.(up 1.58%), Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd.(up 1.21%), Mawana Sugars Ltd.(up 1.21%), Vishwaraj Sugar Industries Ltd.(up 1.17%), Kothari Sugars & Chemicals Ltd.(up 1.02%), Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Ltd.(up 1.01%) and Dwarikesh Sugar Industries Ltd.(up 1.01%) were among the top gainers. KCP Sugar & Industries Corporation Ltd.(down 1.63%) and Bannari Amman Sugars Ltd.(down 0.88%) were among the top losers.
The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 14.31 points down at 24922.1, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 8.63 points at 81568.17 at around 10:24AM. Divi’s Laboratories Ltd.(up 3.55%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 1.49%), NTPC Ltd.(up 1.47%), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 1.29%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 1.28%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 0.91%), Infosys Ltd.(up 0.89%), LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 0.77%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 0.6%) and Cipla Ltd.(up 0.6%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
