Myanmar : Tazaungdine Festival brings affordable domestic edible oils to public in Yangon

The Myanmar Edible Oil Millers Association (MEOMA) is hosting a Domestic Edible Oil Sales event from November 9 to 11 at the UMFCCI in Yangon, offering locally produced oils at reasonable prices. The fair features peanut oil, sesame oil, and sunflower oil, with pure peanut oil priced at K16,000 per viss. Participating millers include nine from Mandalay, four from Magway, and one from Sagaing.

According to the Myanmar Edible Oil Millers Association (MEOMA), the Domestic Edible Oil Sales in the Tazaungdine Festival is being held from 9 to 11 November at the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) in Lanmadaw Township of Yangon Region. The event aims to sell locally produced edible oils at reasonable prices.


“We are offering locally produced peanut oil, sesame oil, and sunflower oil at affordable prices to ensure local oil sufficiency. Pure peanut oil is available at K16,000 per viss.


The event features participation of nine oil millers from the Mandalay Region, four from the Magway Region, and one from the Sagaing Region,” said U Tin Aye, an executive of MEOMA.


The association held the first market fair of oil millers at UMFCCI on 3 and 4 August this year as part of marking the 5th Anniversary of MEOMA. The second fair took place at the same venue on 12 and 13 October. The third fair was held at the promotion area of Yadanabon Super Centre in Mandalay on 2 and 3 November.
