EIA: Ethanol production reaches record high, stocks up slightly, exports up 32%

U.S. fuel ethanol production reached a record 1.113 million barrels per day for the week ending Nov. 8, up 8,000 barrels from the prior week and 66,000 barrels year-over-year. Ending stocks rose slightly to 22.039 million barrels. Exports saw a 32% increase, averaging 144,000 barrels per day, with no imports reported. The previous record was set in July 2024 at 1.109 million barrels per day.

U.S. fuel ethanol production was up nearly 1% the week ending Nov. 8, setting a record high at 1.113 barrels per day, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Nov. 14. Stocks were up slightly, and exports were up 32%. The previous record for fuel ethanol production was set in July 2024 at 1.109 million barrels per day. 

The 1.113 million barrels per day of production reported for the week ending Nov. 8 was up 8,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.105 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending Nov. 8 was up 66,000 barrels per day. 

Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol expanded to 22.039 million barrels the week ending Nov. 8, up 19,000 barrels when compared to the 22.02 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending Nov. 8 were up 1.085 million barrels. 

Fuel ethanol exports averaged 144,000 barrels per day the week ending Nov. 8, up 35,000 barrels per day when compared to the 109,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending Nov. 8 were up 59,000 barrels per day. No fuel ethanol imports were reported for the week ending Nov. 8.
