Telangana, Protest against ethanol factory: 23 farmers booked for vandalizing RDO vehicle
23 farmers in Nirmal, Telangana, were booked for obstructing duties, vandalizing RDO Rathna Kalyani’s vehicle, and staging a sit-in on NH-61 to protest against an ethanol factory in Dilawarpur mandal.
Nirmal: As many as 23 farmers were on Wednesday booed for allegedly causing inconvenience to the public by staging a sit-in on the national highway, vandalizing vehicle of Nirmal RDO Rathna Kalyani, detaining her and obstructing to her duties during a sit-in conducted by villagers against establishment of an ethanol factory on the national highway 61 in Dilawarpur mandal headquarters on Tuesday.
Police said that cases were registered against 23 farmers for causing inconvenience to the public by staging a sit-in on the national highway, vandalizing the vehicle of Nirmal RDO Rathna Kalyani, detaining her and obstructing her duties at the time of the protest.
