State-wise monthly sugar quota for sale in March 2025


The Food Ministry has allocated a monthly sugar quota of 23 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) for March 2025 to 579 mills, slightly lower than the 23.5 LMT allocated in March 2024. In February 2025, the quota was 22.5 LMT. Experts anticipate strong market sentiment due to rising demand from the summer and festive seasons.
In a order released on February 28, the Food Ministry allocated a monthly sugar quota of 23 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) for March 2025 to 579 mills, which is lower than the quota allocated in March 2024.
In March 2024, the government had allocated a monthly sugar quota of 23.5 LMT for domestic sale.
For February 2025, the government allocated a sugar quota of 22.5 LMT.
According to market experts, with the commencement of the summer and festive seasons ahead, positive sentiment will continue in the domestic market. The end of the sugar mills’ crushing season will also support the market.
