USGC seeks A-Team applicants for 2025-2027 term

The U.S. Grains Council is seeking applicants for its 2025–2027 Advisory Teams, including one focused on expanding global U.S. ethanol trade. Applications close April 30. A-Team members serve two-year terms, shaping export strategies and promoting market access in priority regions like Brazil, India, and Mexico. Teams also support innovation, sustainability, and distillers grains market development.

The U.S. Grains Council is soliciting applications for its seven Advisory Teams (A-Teams) to serve the 2025-2027 term. One of the A-Teams focuses exclusively on ethanol. Applications are due April 30.

In addition to ethanol, the A-Teams focus on Asia; innovation and sustainability; Middle East/Africa/South Asia; trade policy; value-added programs and Western Hemisphere. Each A-Team is comprised of a member leader, board of director liaison and USGC staff liaison who work in tandem to communicate the activities and recommendations of the A-Team.

A-Team members serve two-year terms, renewable without limit at the discretion of the chairperson. The teams meet in person twice a year at USGC annual meetings, where they review the USGC’s unified export strategy and help set directions and priorities for the year ahead. The A-Teams also hold periodic phone calls.

According to the USGC, the Ethanol A-team is dedicated to expanding the global use and trade of U.S. ethanol and feedstock producers. The A-team recognizes the division of ethanol markets into priority markets, second-tier markets and frontier markets. There are seven priority markets: Brazil, Canada, India, China, Indonesia, Canada and Mexico. The A-team supports the USGC’s market development efforts to create and maintain market access in priority ethanol markets. The A-team also focuses on frontier markets and making inroads for new uses of ethanol, industrial applications and multilateral and academic efforts that support messaging about the benefits of expanded ethanol use.

The other six A-Teams also address issues related to ethanol and distillers grains market development.

“Members are the foundation of the Council and its work, and we count on the expert contributions of our A-Team members to help inform the Council’s export development strategies in markets around the world,” said Rebecca Starrett, USGC manager of industry relations. “If you’ve been wanting to get more involved and connect further with Council staff and your fellow members, this is the chance to add your voice to the conversation.”
