EIA weekly data: Ethanol production down 2%, stocks down 1%, exports down 9%

U.S. fuel ethanol production fell nearly 2% to 1.02 million barrels/day for the week ending May 2, while stocks dipped 1% to 25.191 million barrels. Exports declined by 9% to 129,000 barrels/day. Despite weekly drops, production remains higher than last year. No imports were reported for the week, per U.S. Energy Information Administration data.

U.S. fuel ethanol production fell by nearly 2% the week ending May 2, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on May 7. Stocks of fuel ethanol were down 1% and exports were down nearly 9%. 

Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.02 million barrels per day the week ending May 2, down 20,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.04 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending May 2 was up 55,000 barrels per day. 

Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol fell to 25.191 million barrels the week ending May 2, down 198,000 barrels when compared to the 255.389 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending May 2 were up 991,000 barrels. 

Weekly exports of fuel ethanol fell to 129,000 barrels per day the week ending May 2, down 12,000 barrels per day when compared to the 141,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending May 2 were down 51,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending May 2.
