Bangladesh receives offers for 50,000 T of wheat


Bangladesh received a lowest offer of \$250.00 per ton CIF, liner out from Arista Trading in its latest international tender to import 50,000 tons of wheat, traders said. While no deal has been finalized yet, JK International also submitted a low bid of \$268.90. The wheat may come from Ukraine, Romania, or Australia, excluding Israel.
European traders reported that the lowest price offered by Bangladesh’s state grain buyer in an international bid to buy and import 50,000 tons of wheat was $268.90 per metric ton CIF, liner out.
Traders said that offers are still being considered but no purchases have yet been made.
Traders said that traders believed JK International had submitted the lowest bid for wheat imported from Ukraine, Romania or Australia.
The reports reflect the opinions of traders, and it is still possible to estimate prices and volume later.
The traders said that these companies also participated in the tender and made price offers for a ton CIF liner: Aston $288.88;?Orexim Trading $257.00; Agrocorp $279.38; Cereal Crops $285.00; Arista Trading $250.00.
CIF terms include the costs of ocean shipping and ship loading for the buyer.
Bangladesh does not usually make decisions immediately about buying wheat, as confirmation can take some time.
The contract is signed 40 days later. The wheat can come from anywhere in the world except Israel. It is to be shipped into two ports: Chittagong, and Mongla.
