Ukraine expects to harvest 31.3 mln tons of corn

ARGUS Media forecasts Ukraine’s 2025 corn harvest at 31.3 million tons from 4.5 million hectares, aided by summer rains. Analyst Oleksiy Yeremin expects exports could reach 26 million tons but warns of fierce competition. U.S. corn’s lower prices allowed American suppliers to capture traditional Ukrainian markets, creating export challenges despite ample supply.

Summer precipitation in some regions has improved the situation with the corn harvest. Analysts of the independent price agency ARGUS Media predict that from 4.5 million hectares, as indicated by the State Statistics Service, Ukraine will harvest 31.3 million tons of corn this year.

This was stated by ARGUS Media analyst Oleksiy Yeremin during a Trend&Hedge Club meeting.

He noted that in this case, 26 million tons of corn may be exported in the new season, but there is an assumption that selling the crop abroad will face difficulties.

“There will be a lot of corn in the new season compared to last year, we have something to export, the issue today is highly competitive. At the end of winter 2025, corn prices in Ukraine went up, while, for example, in America they fell, so the Americans took away from us those markets where we were traditionally present. “While we were busy with Turkey, the US was entering new markets with its corn,” the expert explained.
