Bangladesh : 52,500-tonne Russian wheat reaches Ctg port

A shipment of 52,500 MT of Russian wheat arrived at Chattogram port, transported by MV Perth under a July 7 purchase agreement. Sampling and testing have been completed. Of the total, 31,500 MT will be unloaded at Chattogram, and 21,000 MT will go to Mongla port for further distribution.

A shipment of 52,500 metric tonnes of Russian wheat reached the outer anchorage of Chattogram port on Monday morning.

MV Perth transported the wheat under a 7 July purchase agreement with Russia, according to a notification issued by the food ministry.

According to a PID press release issued today, sampling and testing of the wheat stored on the ship have already been completed, and necessary measures have been taken for quick unloading.

Of the total, 31,500 metric tonnes of wheat will be unloaded at Chattogram, while the remaining 21,000 metric tonnes will be discharged at Mongla port.
