Ukraine processed only 14% of rapeseed, exported the rest in the MY 2024/25 — Ukroliyaprom


In Ukraine’s MY 2024/25, rapeseed processing reached 0.5 million tons (14% of production), while 3.1 million tons (86%) were exported. Rapeseed oil exports totaled 210.4 thousand tons ($194 million), with 153.5 thousand tons ($144.1 million) shipped to the EU. China led imports at 48.3 thousand tons. Ukraine also exported 218.5 thousand tons of soybean meal ($53.9 million), with 198.9 thousand tons ($46.8 million) going to the EU.
Rapeseed processing in Ukraine in the MY 2024/25 amounted to 0.5 mln tons, or 14% of rapeseed production.
According to the Ukroliyaprom association, 3.1 mln tons of this crop were exported (over 86% of production).
It is noted that rapeseed oil exports last season amounted to 210.4 thsd tons — worth $194 mln, of which 153.5 thsd (worth $144.1 mln) were shipped to EU countries.
At the same time, China became the leader among countries that imported rapeseed oil from Ukraine.
The top 10 countries-buyers of Ukrainian rapeseed oil look like this:
- China — 48.3 thsd tons;
- Poland — 46.1 thsd tons;
- Belgium — 26.5 thsd tons;
- Lithuania — 23.1 thsd tons;
- Netherlands — 15.2 thsd tons;
- Spain — 13 thsd tons;
- Italy — 9 thsd tons;
- Bulgaria — 8.2 thsd tons;
- Germany — 4.3 thsd tons;
- Latvia — 3.6 thsd tons.
At the same time, Ukraine exported 218.5 thsd tons of soybean meal worth $53.9 mln. Of these, 198.9 thsd tons were purchased by EU countries, paying $46.8 mln.
