Wheat stocks in Kazakhstan are 5% higher than last year

As of October 1, 2025, Kazakhstan’s total grain and legume stocks stood at 19.9 million tonnes, up from 18.6 million tonnes a year earlier. Wheat accounted for 15.6 million tonnes, including 14.3 million tonnes of food wheat. Barley stocks reached 2.65 million tonnes, while corn and oats remained relatively stable.

As of October 1, Kazakhstan had 15.6 million tons of wheat in stock. This is 5.4% higher than on the same date in 2024 (14.8 million tons), APK-Inform reports, citing official statistics.

At the same time, food wheat stocks in the Republic of Kazakhstan as of October 2025 amounted to 14.3 million tons, seed wheat – 539.000 tons, and feed wheat – about 798.000 tons. As of the specified date, there were about 884.8 thousand tons of durum wheat available (including 794.000 tons of food wheat).

As of 01.10.25, Kazakhstan had 2.65 million tons of barley in stock (compared to 2.38 million tons on the same date in 2024).

Corn stocks amount to 240.000 tons (vs. 228.000 tons), oats – about 226.000 tons (222.000 tons). However, buckwheat stocks are lower than last year – 41.000 tons compared to 58.000 tons on the same date in 2024.

Overall, as of October 1 this year, Kazakhstan had 19.9 million tons of grain and legume crops (including rice) in stock, compared to 18.6 million tons on October 1, 2024.
