Diwali gift for farmers: Haryana hikes sugarcane rates from Rs 400 to Rs 415 per quintal

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini announced a Diwali gift for farmers, raising sugarcane prices to the highest in India. The rate for early varieties is now Rs 415 per quintal and for late varieties Rs 408. The move aims to boost farmer incomes and strengthen the state’s agricultural economy.

In a Diwali announcement, Chief Minister Nayab Saini announced a gift for sugarcane farmers, with the Haryana government deciding to offer the highest sugarcane rates in the country, according to an official statement.

The rate for early varieties has been raised from Rs 400 per quintal to Rs 415 per quintal, while the price for late varieties has been increased from Rs 393 per quintal to Rs 408 per quintal, the statement noted.

“This historic decision marks a significant step by the Haryana government, providing the highest sugarcane prices in the nation. It is aimed at boosting farmers’ incomes and ensuring their economic well-being,” the statement added.

The Chief Minister emphasized that this decision not only benefits farmers but also provides a much-needed boost to the state’s agricultural economy.

Saini reiterated that his government is dedicated to supporting farmers and bringing prosperity to their lives by offering the highest sugarcane support price in the country.
