EIA weekly data: ethanol production down 6%, stocks up 5%, exports up 83%

U.S. fuel ethanol production fell 6% to 1.119 million bpd in the week ended Jan. 16, EIA data showed. Ethanol stocks rose 5% to 25.74 million barrels, while exports jumped 83% to 218,000 bpd. No ethanol imports were reported.

Fuel ethanol production fell 6% the week ending Jan. 16, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Jan. 22. Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol were up 5% and exports expanded by 83%. 

Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.119 million barrels per day the week ending Jan. 16, down 77,000 barrels per day when compared to the record-setting 1.196 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending Jan. 16 was up 20,000 barrels per day. 

Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol reached 25.739 million barrels the week ending Jan. 16, up 1.266 million barrels when compared to the 24.473 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending Jan. 16 were down 135,000 barrels. 

Exports of fuel ethanol expanded to 218,000 barrels per day the week ending Jan. 16, up 99,000 barrels per day when compared to the119,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending Jan. 16 were up 49,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending Jan. 16.
