Corn harvest in Ukraine will end in March

Ukraine has harvested about 29 million tons of corn, with just 5–7% of the area still in the field, Deputy Minister Taras Vysotsky said. While completion may extend to March, authorities say losses are unlikely, though some quality risks remain due to delayed harvesting.

Ukraine has not yet fully harvested the corn crop, but the volumes remaining in the field are not critical. This was reported by Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture Taras Vysotsky in an interview with BusinessCensor.

According to him, out of the projected over 30 million tons, about 29 million tons of corn have already been threshed. Approximately 5-7% of the area remains in the field.

“The completion of the harvest will most likely take place in March. This is not an unprecedented situation for Ukraine, such a practice has already been in previous years. The delay may affect the marketability and quality of the grain. But there is no reason to say that the entire volume that remains will be lost. We are talking about a possible decrease in quality, not about an automatic loss of the crop,” Vysotsky emphasized.
