EIA weekly data: US Ethanol production up 3%, stocks up slightly, exports down 8%

U.S. fuel ethanol production rose nearly 3% to 1.111 million barrels per day in the week ending May 15, up 75,000 barrels year-on-year. Ethanol stocks edged up to 24.875 million barrels, while exports fell 8% to 149,000 barrels per day. No ethanol imports were reported during the week.

U.S. fuel ethanol production expanded by nearly 3% the week ending May 15, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Stocks of fuel ethanol were up slightly and exports fell by 8%.

Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.111 million barrels per day the week ending May 15, up 29,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.082 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending May 15 was up 75,000 barrels per day. 

Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol expanded 24.875 million barrels per day the week ending May 15, up 5,000 barrels per day when compared to the 24.87 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending May 15 were down 69,000 barrels per day. 

Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 149,000 barrels per day the week ending May 15, down 13,000 barrels per day when compared to the 162,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending May 15 were up 38,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending May 15.
