Philippines remains Vietnam’s largest rice export market
The Philippines remained the largest buyer of Vietnamese rice, accounting for over half of Vietnam’s export volume and nearly 47% of export value. Vietnam shipped nearly 1.7 million tons worth $740 million during January-April, with all early-May export vessels also bound for the Philippines.
The Philippines continues to be the largest market of Vietnamese rice exports as it accounts for over half of Vietnam’s total rice export volume and nearly 47% of value, according to Vietnam’s Customs Department.
In April, the Philippines imported more than 510,000 tons of rice from Vietnam, valued at 225 million USD, making up 46.4% of Vietnam’s total rice exports for the month.
During the first four months of the year, Vietnam exported nearly 1.7 million tons of rice to the Philippines, worth more than 740 million USD.
From May 1 to 11, all 23 vessels docking at Ho Chi Minh City and My Thoi ports to load rice for export were headed to the Philippines, with a combined projected cargo volume of around 168,650 tons.
