EIA weekly data: Ethanol production up 5%, stocks up slightly, exports up 95%
U.S. fuel ethanol production rose over 5% to 1.094 million barrels per day in the week ended 17 July, while ethanol stocks edged up to 24.48 million barrels. Exports surged 95% week-on-week to 158,000 barrels per day, with no ethanol imports reported during the period.
U.S. fuel ethanol production expanded by more than 5% the week ending July 17, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on July 22. Stocks of fuel ethanol were up slightly while exports were up more than 95%.
Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.094 million barrels per day the week ending July 17, up 54,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.04 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending July 17 was up 16,000 barrels per day.
Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol reached 24.481 million barrels the week ending July 17, up 90,000 barrels when compared to the 24.391 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending July 17 were up 37,000 barrels.
Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 158,000 barrels per day the week ending July 17, up 77,000 barrels per day when compared to the 81,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending July 17 were up 50,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending July 17.
