Cambodia’s milled rice exports surge 67.5% in 1st 8 months of 2026

Cambodia exported 792,212 tonnes of milled rice in January–August 2026, up 67.5% year-on-year, generating $464.1 million, a 33% increase. Sixty-one companies shipped rice to 66 countries and regions, led by ASEAN, the EU and China. Cambodia expects to achieve its 1-million-tonne export target in 2026.

Cambodia exported 792,212 tonnes of milled rice in the first eight months of 2026, marking a significant 67.5% rise from the 472,803 tonnes shipped during the same period last year, the Cambodia Rice Federation (CRF) said yesterday.

This export boom generated $464.1 million in revenue from January to August, representing a 33% increase from the $348 million recorded during the first eight months of 2025.

According to the CRF, 61 companies shipped Cambodian milled rice to 66 countries and regions worldwide during this period.

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the European Union, and China remained the primary destination markets for the kingdom’s rice exports.

CRF President Lay Chhun Hour said last month that the Southeast Asian country expects to comfortably achieve the government-set target of exporting 1 million tonnes of milled rice for the first time this year.
