Bangladesh : Rice mill owner fined Tk one lakh in Tangail
In Tangail, the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) imposed a Tk 1,00,000 fine on the owner of M/S Janani Auto Rice Mill for several violations. The mill, located in East Beddoba, Kalihati upazila, was fined for storing rice in plastic bags, failing to mention the rice variety and expiry date, and other irregularities. The operation was assisted by law enforcement agencies, and further inspections will continue in the district.
TANGAIL, Dec 4, 2024 (BSS)- A team of the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) in a drive here today realized Taka 1,00,000 as fine from the owner of an auto rice mill for storing rice in plastic bags and various other irregularities in East Beddoba area under ??Kalihati upazila of the district today.
The drive, led by assistant director of Tangail Consumer Rights Protection Department Shikder Shahinur Alam, conducted the drive at M/S Janani Auto Rice Mill in East Beddoba area under ??Kalihati upazila of the district today and fined Taka 1,00,000 for storing rice in plastic bags, not mentioning the variety of rice, not mentioning expiry date, violating government regulations and other irregularities this afternoon.
Members of the law enforcement agencies assisted in the operation.
The drive would continue in the district, assistant director of DNCRP Shikder Shahinur Alam said.
