Pradhan criticized Odisha’s procurement system, alleging mill owners and brokers exploit farmers under BJD rule. He urged the BJP-led state government to fulfill its promises of eliminating middlemen and adopting Chhattisgarh’s model.
The delegation demanded Chief Minister Mohan Majhi, visiting Sohela on December 8, announce the new model, stop grain analyzer use, and release Rs 800 per quintal input subsidy. Failure to act will prompt farmer protests, they warned.
