BCL Industries commissions 150 KLPD ethanol unit, Bathinda capacity hits 550 KLPD

BCL Industries commissioned a 150 KLPD brownfield ethanol expansion at its Bathinda, Punjab facility, increasing total distillery capacity to 550 KLPD. The expansion strengthens its position among India’s largest grain-based distillers and supports the government’s ethanol blending and biofuel objectives.

BCL Industries Limited has completed the commissioning of another 150 KLPD ethanol-dedicated brownfield expansion at its Bathinda facility in Punjab, taking the plant’s total distillery capacity to 550 KLPD. The company informed stock exchanges in a regulatory filing under Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

Commenting on the development, Managing Director Rajinder Mittal said the company was delighted to announce the commissioning of the brownfield expansion at Bathinda, adding that it further strengthened BCL’s position as one of the largest grain-based distilleries in India. He said the company remained committed to supporting the government’s biofuel initiatives.

The expansion adds to BCL’s existing distillery infrastructure at the Bathinda unit, which is part of the company’s broader push to scale up ethanol production capacity in line with the central government’s ethanol blending programme. The filing was signed by Ajeet Kumar Thakur, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of BCL Industries.

The disclosure was made to the National Stock Exchange of India and BSE Limited, where the company’s shares are listed under NSE scrip code BCLIND and BSE code 524332.

With this brownfield addition, BCL Industries continues to expand its grain-based ethanol capacity, aligning with the government’s ongoing efforts to boost domestic biofuel production and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.
