Chhattisgarh : Maize purchase at MSP for ethanol plant begins in Kondagaon; commissioning process expected to start in January
Maize procurement has commenced in Kondagaon district, Chhattisgarh, under the Maa Danteshwari Maize Processing and Marketing Cooperative Society Ltd. This is part of the state’s project to establish a maize-based ethanol plant, with operations set to begin in January. The procurement, conducted at the plant site, follows the Minimum Support Price (MSP) set by the government and is expected to benefit local farmers by offering economic stability and development opportunities.
In Kondagaon district of Chhattisgarh, the long-awaited procurement of maize has finally begun. The procurement is being carried out under the Maa Danteshwari Maize Processing and Marketing Cooperative Society Ltd.
This initiative is part of the Chhattisgarh government’s ambitious project, which includes the establishment of a maize-based ethanol production plant in the district. The plant, set up by Maa Danteshwari Maize Processing and Marketing Cooperative Society Ltd., is expected to be operational soon. Trial runs and commissioning of the plant are anticipated to begin in January. In preparation for the plant’s operations, maize procurement from the cooperative’s member farmers commenced on December 27. The procurement is being conducted from Monday to Friday, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the plant site.
The management has stated that maize will be procured from farmers at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) set by the Government of India. This procurement process will take place directly at the plant site.
The launch of this plant is expected to bring benefits to the thousands of farmers in the region. Guidelines for maize procurement are now available on the official district website. This new initiative is expected to provide economic stability to farmers and generate new development opportunities for the region.
