EIA: Ethanol Production Down 1%, Stocks Up Slightly, Exports Up 73%
US fuel ethanol production dipped 1% to 1.054 million barrels per day for the week ending July 5, according to the Energy Information Administration. Despite this, stocks rose slightly to 23.603 million barrels, up 945,000 from the same week last year. Exports surged 73% to 182,000 barrels per day, a significant increase from 105,000 the previous week and 131,000 in the same week last year. No imports were reported. Production was still up 22,000 barrels per day from the same week last year.
U.S. fuel ethanol production fell by nearly 1% the week ending July 5, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on July 10. Stocks of fuel ethanol were up slightly while exports were up more than 73%.
Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.054 million barrels per day the week ending July 5, down 10,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.064 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending July 5 was up 22,000 barrels per day.
Ending stocks of fuel ethanol reached 23.603 million barrels the week ending July 5, up 9,000 barrels when compared to the 23.594 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol were up 945,000 barrels.
Fuel ethanol exports averaged 182,000 barrels per day the week ending July 5, up 77,000 barrels per day when compared to the 105,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending July 5 were up 131,000 barrels per day. No fuel ethanol imports were reported for the week ending July 5.
