EIA: Ethanol production up slightly, stocks down 2%, exports down 2%

U.S. fuel ethanol production rose slightly to 1.078 million barrels per day for the week ending Dec. 6, up 5,000 barrels from the previous week. Fuel ethanol stocks dropped by 355,000 barrels to 22.648 million barrels, while exports decreased by 3,000 barrels per day to 123,000 barrels. No imports were reported during the week.

U.S. fuel ethanol production was up less than 1% the week ending Dec. 6, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Dec. 11. Stocks of fuel ethanol were down nearly 2% and exports were down more than 2%. 

Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.078 million barrels per day the week ending Dec. 6, up 5,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.073 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending Dec. 6 was up 4,000 barrels per day. 

Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol fell to 22.648 million barrels the week ending Dec. 6, down 355,000 barrels when compared to the 23.003 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending Dec. 6 were up 548,000 barrels.

Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 123,000 barrels per day the week ending Dec. 6, down 3,000 barrels per day when compared to the 126,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending Dec. 6 were down 1,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending Dec. 6.
