EIA: Ethanol production up slightly, stocks up 1%, exports down 1%
U.S. fuel ethanol production slightly increased to 1.042 million barrels per day (b/d) during the week ending Oct. 11, 2024, up by 4,000 b/d from the previous week. Ethanol stocks also rose by less than 1%, reaching 22.275 million barrels, while exports decreased marginally to 140,000 b/d. However, compared to the same week last year, production, stocks, and exports have all seen increases. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week.
U.S. fuel ethanol production was up slightly the week ending Oct. 11, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Oct. 17. Stocks of fuel ethanol were up less than 1% and exports were down nearly 1%.
Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.042 million barrels per day the week ending Oct. 11, up 4,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.038 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending Oct. 11 was up 7,000 barrels per day.
Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol expanded to 22.275 million barrels the week ending Oct. 11, up 121,000 barrels when compared to the 22.154 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending Oct. 11 were up 1.163 million barrels.
Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 140,000 barrels per day the week ending Oct. 11, down 1,000 barrel per day when compared to the 141,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending Oct. 11 were up 28,000 barrels per day. No fuel ethanol imports were reported for the week ending Oct. 11.
