EIA weekly data: Ethanol production down 5%, stocks up 2%, exports down 60%

U.S. fuel ethanol production fell nearly 5% to 1.04 million barrels per day in the week ending July 10. Ethanol stocks rose 2% to 24.39 million barrels, while exports plunged nearly 60% to 81,000 barrels per day. No imports were reported.

U.S. fuel ethanol production fell by nearly 5% the week ending July 10, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Stocks of fuel ethanol expanded by 2% and exports were down nearly 60%.

Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.04 million barrels per day the week ending July 10, down 53,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.093 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending July 10 was down 47,000.

Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol expanded to 24.391 million barrels the week ending July 10, up 463,000 barrels when compared to the 23.928 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending July 10 were up 756,000 barrels.

Exports of fuel ethanol fell to 81,000 barrels per day the week ending July 10, down 119,000 barrels per day when compared to the 200,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending July 10 were down 13,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending July 10.
