EIA weekly data: Ethanol production up 2%, stocks down 1%, exports up 32%
U.S. fuel ethanol production rose 2% to 1.108 million barrels/day in the week ended May 29. Ethanol stocks declined 1.4% to 24.606 million barrels, while exports jumped 32% to 135,000 barrels/day. No ethanol imports were recorded during the week.
U.S. fuel ethanol production expanded by 2% the week ending May 29, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on June 3. Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol fell by more than 1% and exports expanded by more than 32%.
Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.108 million barrels per day the week ending May 29, up 19,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.089 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending May 29 was up 3,000 barrels per day.
Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol fell to 24.606 million barrels the week ending May 29, down 362,000 barrels when compared to the 24.968 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending May 29 were up 165,000 barrels.
Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 135,000 barrels per day the week ending May 29, up 33,000 barrels per day when compared to the 102,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending May 29 were down 15,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending May 29.
