Grain stocks in Ukraine as of April 1 were 50% higher than last year
Ukraine’s grain and legume stocks rose sharply to 15.68 million tonnes as of April 1, up 5.3 million tonnes year-on-year. Wheat, corn and barley inventories increased significantly, while sunflower seed and rye stocks declined slightly, reflecting strong supply availability across key grains despite mixed trends in oilseeds.
According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, as of April 1, stocks of grain and leguminous crops in Ukraine amounted to 15.68 million tons, which is 5.3 million tons more than on April 1, 2025.
Compared to last year, grain stocks in storage at agricultural enterprises increased by 47.2% to 10.04 million tons, and at processing and storage enterprises – by 59.8% to 5.64 million tons.
By crop, stocks increased compared to last year:
- wheat – by 58.5% to 5.4 million tons,
- corn – by 46.6% to 8.8 million tons,
- barley – by 57% to 705.4 thousand tons.
At the same time, sunseed stocks decreased by 10% to 2.6 million tons, and rye – by 1.6% to 43,360 tons.
