Himachal minister Rajesh Dharmani visits Bengaluru to observe state’s progress in bioenergy
Himachal Pradesh’s Minister for Technical Education and Skill Development, Rajesh Dharmani, visited Bengaluru to study Karnataka’s progress in bioenergy. He was accompanied by a team of officers to explore advancements and share insights on bioenergy technologies. The visit aimed at understanding Karnataka’s innovations in renewable energy and skill development, as part of Himachal Pradesh’s efforts to enhance its own bioenergy initiatives.
Bengaluru: Rajesh Dharmani, Himachal Pradesh’s Minister for Technical Education and Skill Development, visited Bengaluru on Wednesday to observe Karnataka’s advancements in bioenergy
Accompanied by a team of seven officers, Dharmani toured the Bioenergy Research, Information and Demonstration Centre and the Bioenergy Research & Quality Assurance Laboratory at Gandhi Krishi Vijnana Kendra (GKVK), University of Agricultural Science,Bengaluru.
During the visit, officials from the University of Agricultural Sciences briefed Dharmani on various aspects of bioenergy, including biofuels and compressed biogas.
He was was joined by SE Sudheendra, Chairman of the Karnataka State Bioenergy Development Board (KSBDB), Dr SV Suresha, Vice-Chancellor of KSBDB, and Shivashankar L, Managing Director of KSBDB. Dharmani and his team also toured the biofuel nursery, where they observed various plant species cultivated for biofuel production. They explored the biodiesel production facilities and learned about quality testing procedures. In return, Dharmani shared insights into Himachal Pradesh’s progress in biofuels, as well as developments in tourism and the state’s unique geographical attributes.
