A Hyundai subsidiary is developing the world’s first hydrogen-powered military tank, which would be quieter, more manoeuvrable and harder for the enemy to detect than existing diesel tanks.

The next-generation K3 tank being developed by defense equipment maker Hyundai Rotem would use fuel cells to drive an electric motor that would be far quieter than existing tanks running on diesel engines, with faster acceleration and hill-climbing ability.

In addition to being quiet, it will be able to radio waves, enabling it to avoid radar detection, thus making it more able to elude the enemy.
