India: FCI announces OMSS rice sale tenders across four states
FCI will conduct OMSS rice tenders on October 7–8 across Telangana, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan, covering 10,089 tonnes of broken boiled, raw Grade A, fortified and FRK rice. Reserve prices range from ₹2,200–2,890/quintal, with stocks from multiple crop years and locations.
The Food Corporation of India (FCI) has announced multiple rice sale tenders under the Open Market Sale Scheme (OMSS) across Telangana, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan. The tenders cover broken boiled rice, raw rice Grade A, fortified rice and FRK rice, with sales scheduled on October 7 and 8.
Telangana tender covers 1,189 t
FCI has invited bids for 1,189 t of broken boiled rice in Telangana on October 7. The tender is scheduled from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, with a reserve price of INR 2,200/qtl, excluding applicable taxes. The rice belongs to the 2025-26 crop year and is available at locations including Warangal, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Nalgonda, Tarnaka and Vikarabad. Nalgonda has the largest quantity at 365 t, followed by Nizamabad at 166 t and Vikarabad at 133 t.
West Bengal tenders cover 7,500 t
In West Bengal, FCI has invited bids for 2,000 t of FRK raw rice Grade A and FRK boiled rice, with the tender scheduled for October 7 and 8. The tender includes 500 t each at Bankura FSD Adra and Malda FSD Mangalbari, with a reserve price of INR 2,660/qtl for the 2023-24 crop. Another 1,000 t of FRK boiled rice is available at Hooghly FSD Dankuni from the 2024-25 crop at INR 2,800/qtl. FCI has also invited bids for a bulk OMSS sale through rake, covering 2,500-50,000 t, with a reserve price of INR 2,660/qtl. Another tender covers 5,500 t of raw rice from the 2023-24 crop and older stocks.
Tamil Nadu offers 400 t
In Tamil Nadu, FCI has scheduled an OMSS tender for 400 t on October 7 at a reserve price of INR 2,800/qtl, with local transportation costs charged separately. The tender comprises 200 t of fortified raw rice and 200 t of fortified boiled rice, stored at Cuddalore FSD TV Koil and belonging to the 2024-25 crop.
Rajasthan tender covers 1,000 t
Rajasthans FCI-FRK rice sale tender is scheduled for October 8 and covers 1,000 t across multiple locations. Reserve prices range from INR 2,660/qtl for 2023-24 and older stocks to INR 2,890/qtl for 2025-26 stocks. The tender also specifies a 1.6% mandi tax and 0.5% loading fee, along with applicable charges. The four state tenders together cover 10,089 t of rice across different grades, crop years and locations.
