OMCs extend deadline for ESY 2026-27 ethanol tender of 1,100 crore litres to November 5, 2026

Oil Marketing Companies extended the deadline for bids under the ESY 2026–27 ethanol tender to November 5 from October 29, 2026. The tender seeks around 1,100 crore litres, excluding ethanol from sugarcane juice, syrup, sugar and B-heavy molasses under government directions.

Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have extended the deadline for bids under their cycle 1 tender for Ethanol Supply Year (ESY) 2026-27 to November 5, 2026 from October 29, 2026, according to a corrigendum accessed by ChiniMandi.

Under the revised schedule, bids can now be submitted until 5 pm on November 5, 2026, instead of 11 am on October 29, 2026, and tender documents will remain available until the same time. Bid opening and evaluation has been moved to 5.01 pm on November 5, 2026. The tender opened for document sales and bid submission at 6.30 pm on October 16, 2026, and these start dates remain unchanged.

Through the tender, the OMCs are seeking around 1,100 crore litres of ethanol for supply between November 1, 2026 and October 31, 2027.

In line with government directions to reduce sugar diversion for ethanol to zero for ESY 2026-27, the OMCs have not invited offers for ethanol produced from sugarcane juice, sugar, sugar syrup or B-heavy molasses, according to the tender document. Bids have instead been sought for ethanol made from C-heavy molasses, damaged food grains, surplus rice from the Food Corporation of India (FCI), maize and other feedstocks permitted under the National Policy on Biofuels (NPB).
