Pakistan : Rice Prices Rise Sharply in Local Markets
Rice prices in Pakistan have risen sharply, with Super Kernel rice reaching Rs430/kg and Kainat Basmati Rs520/kg. Packaged rice now sells for Rs580–640/kg, while broken rice ranges from Rs250–280/kg. The increases have intensified concerns over food affordability amid ongoing inflationary pressures.
Super Kernel rice has increased by Rs10, reaching Rs430 per kilogram. Meanwhile, Kainat Basmati is being sold at Rs.520 per kilogram in the market. Packaged rice varieties are now available in the range of Rs.580 to Rs.640 per kilogram.
Broken rice is being sold between Rs250 and Rs280 per kilogram, depending on quality and market location.
The continuous rise in staple food prices has raised concerns among consumers already struggling with inflationary pressures.
