Production of sugar beet in Kyrgyzstan grew by 30 per cent in 2023
Kyrgyzstan’s sugar beet production surged by 30% in 2023, reaching 621,000 tonnes, according to the National Statistical Committee. This surpasses the average yield of 427,500 tonnes for the previous three years, but falls short of the 741,100 tonnes produced in 2019. The significant increase in production is a positive development for the country’s sugar industry, which had seen lower yields in recent years. The 2023 production figure marks a notable improvement, indicating a strong recovery in sugar beet cultivation.
According to the National Statistical Committee, sugar beet production in Kyrgyzstan increased by 30%.
As per media report, 621,00 tonnes of sugar beet were grown in 2023.
This amount is higher than the total produced in the previous three years but lower than the 741,100 tonnes produced in 2019.
The average yield of sugar beet for the years 2020-2022 was 427,500 tonnes.
