Russian flour exports to grow by 3% in 2024 – experts
In 2024, Russia exported wheat and wheat-rye flour worth nearly $300 million, a 3% increase from the previous year, with physical supplies growing by 7%. Afghanistan was the largest buyer, importing $80 million worth of flour, doubling from 2023. Other major buyers included China, Turkmenistan, and Iran, with exports to Iran and Mongolia seeing significant growth. By 2030, Russia’s wheat and flour exports may exceed $440 million.
In 2024, the Russian Federation exported wheat and wheat-rye flour for almost $300 mln, which is 3% higher than a year earlier. In physical terms, supplies grew by 7%, Finmarket reports citing estimates by the Agroexport center.
“The largest buyer of Russian flour 2024 became Afghanistan. According to preliminary data, $80 mln worth of flour was supplied to its market, which is twice as much as a year earlier. China and Turkmenistan were also among the top 3 buyers. In addition, flour exports to Iran grew 18 times, 6 times – to Mongolia, 1.9 times – to Thailand, 1.6 times – to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan,” the report says.
It is noted that according to the estimation of “Agroexport”, by 2030 Russian exports of wheat and wheat-rye flour may exceed $440 mln.
