These 13 sugar factories in Solapur and Dharashiv districts miscalculated sugarcane bills


As of February 15, 2025, sugar mills in Maharashtra have cleared 87.07% of their Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) dues to sugarcane farmers, amounting to ₹18,481 crore out of the ₹21,225 crore owed. In Solapur and Dharashiv districts, 24 mills still owe ₹411.52 crore. Despite the sugar season concluding, many mills have yet to settle their payments, causing financial distress among farmers.

The Sugar Commissioner held a hearing on March 18 for 17 sugar factories that were paying less than 60 percent of the FRP.
The outstanding amount due to them is
Rs 411 crore 52 lakhs to 24 sugar factories in Solapur district, while according to the February 15 report of Dharashiv district, Siddhnath Tirhe (Rs 38 crore 30 lakhs) and Indreshwar Sugar (Rs 22 crore 35 lakhs) have the highest outstanding amount.
Siddhnath Sugar has given 37 percent and Indreshwar Sugar 45 percent of the amount to the farmers. Although other sugar factories have outstanding amounts, it is less than 50 percent.
