US weekly wheat exports rise 31%
U.S. wheat exports rose 31% week-on-week to 419,000 tonnes in the week ended July 30, with South Korea the top destination. New-crop corn sales reached 1.027 million tonnes, while old-crop corn sales fell 68% to a season-low 116,700 tonnes.
Actual U.S. wheat exports reached 419 thsd tons in the week ended July 30. According to USDA FAS, shipments increased by 31% from the previous week and were 46% above the four-week average.
South Korea was the largest destination for U.S. wheat during the reporting week, receiving 90.7 thsd tons. Shipments also included 67.6 thsd tons to Thailand, 57.8 thsd tons to the Philippines, 56.4 thsd tons to Japan and 52.7 thsd tons to Mexico.
Meanwhile, U.S. wheat export sales for the 2026/27 marketing year totaled 296.4 thsd tons, up 4% from the previous week and 6% above the four-week average. New-crop corn sales were significantly higher at 1.027 mln tons, including 490.4 thsd tons to unknown destinations, 151.5 thsd tons to Mexico and 151 thsd tons to South Korea.
In contrast, old-crop corn demand weakened sharply. Weekly sales fell to a season-low 116.7 thsd tons, down 68% from the previous week and 70% below the four-week average.
