Food Security: Kwara Gov Visits Rice, Maize Farm
Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, through Agriculture Commissioner Toyosi Thomas-Adebayo, visited rice plantations in Edu and Patigi local government areas to evaluate the impact of state-provided inputs. The visit will be followed by a feedback mission to inspect maize and soybean farms in Kaiama and other regions. Recently, AbdulRazaq also reviewed soybean cultivation at Kwara Youths Farm in Malete, which spans 1,500 hectares.
Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has visited rice plantations in communities in the Edu and Patigi local government areas to assess the impacts of seedlings, fertilisers, and other inputs they received from the state government.
AbdulRazaq, represented by the Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development Toyosi Thomas-Adebayo, said the tour would be followed by another ‘feedback mission’ to Kaiama and other parts of the state to inspect maize and soya beans farmlands, among others.
Last week, the governor inspected the Kwara Youths Farm in Malete in the Moro Local Government Area, where at least 1,500 hectares of land are being cultivated for soya bean production.
