Nagaland : KVK Dimapur organises field day on Kharif Maize in Dhansiripar
On October 9, ICAR KVK Dimapur organized a field day on Kharif Maize (Pusa HQPM-5 Improved) at Dhansiripar village. Agricultural inputs like a motorized maize sheller and wheel hoes were distributed to farmers. Kevin Solo, the Sub-Divisional Agricultural Officer, was the chief guest. Local farmers shared positive experiences with the maize variety.
Dimapur, October 9 (MExN): ICAR Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Dimapur, Nagaland Centre organised a field day on Kharif Maize (Pusa HQPM-5 Improved) at Dhansiripar village on October 9.
During the programme, agricultural inputs, including one motorized VL Maize Sheller and five wheel hoes were also distributed.
The event was graced by Kevin Solo, Sub-Divisional Agricultural Officer (SDAO) as the chief guest and the participants included local farmers, State Agricultural Officials, and KVK representatives.
Dr Phool Kumari, Senior Scientist cum Head, KVK Dimapur gave the welcome address. Dr Bendangla Imsong, CTO Plant breeding served as the event in-charge, guiding discussions. Two local farmers shared their experiences with the Improved Maize variety, highlighting the benefits and successes they have achieved, that inspired the other farmers.
The programme concluded with an engaging interactive session between the farmers and agricultural officials. Dr Moanaro, Programme Assistant delivered the vote of thanks. Marneni Divya Sree, SMS Agriculture Extension coordinated the activities.
