Ministry discusses maize procurement with NAFED & NCCF

Dr. Ashish Kumar Bhutani, Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation, chaired a crucial meeting in New Delhi to discuss the procurement of maize by the National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation of India (NCCF) and the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED).
The meeting brought together key stakeholders, including Rohit Mathur, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas (MoPNG); Ashwini Srivastava, Joint Secretary, Sugar; Smt. Anice Joseph Chandra, Managing Director, NCCF; and Deepak Agarwal, Managing Director, NAFED.
Senior officials from the Ministry of Cooperation were also present to deliberate on strategies and collaborative efforts for maize procurement.
The discussion focused on streamlining procurement processes, ensuring fair pricing, and supporting farmers through cooperative efforts.
This initiative aligns with the government’s vision to strengthen agricultural marketing systems and empower cooperatives to play a pivotal role in enhancing rural livelihoods.
