Karnataka : Cane growers’ to intensify protests with tractor rallies
The Karnataka State Sugarcane Growers’ Association will hold tractor rallies across the state on January 26 to demand government action on farmers’ issues. Despite Jagjit Singh Dallewal ending his fast, protests will continue. A Farmer Martyr’s Day will be observed in Davanagere on January 30. Additionally, kho kho player Chaitra will be honored upon her return to Mysuru.

Mysuru: Karnataka State Sugarcane Growers’ Association’s Kuruburu Shanthakumar announced that tractor rallies will be organised in every taluk and district headquarters of the state on Jan 26th to pressurise the govt to fulfil various demands of the farmers.Speaking to reporters, he stated that even though farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal withdrew his fast, the protest by farmers will continue.
He also announced that a Farmer Martyr’s Day will be observed in Davanagere on Jan 30 to remember the farmers who sacrificed their lives for the food security of the country.Kuruburu Shanthakumar said that Indian women’s kho kho team member Chaitra, who is part of the World Cup-winning squad, will be received with honour on Tuesday when she returns to her native village in Mysuru district.
