EIA: Ethanol production down 4%, stocks up 2%, exports up 180%


U.S. fuel ethanol production dropped 4% to 1.021 million barrels/day for the week ending April 4, while stocks rose 2% to 27.034 million barrels. Exports surged 180% to 174,000 barrels/day. Compared to the same week last year, production and exports were down slightly, while stocks rose by 826,000 barrels. No imports were reported for the week.
U.S. fuel ethanol production was down 4% the week ending April 4, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on April 9. Stocks of fuel ethanol expanded by 2% and exports were up 180%.
Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.021 million barrels per day the week ending April 4, down 42,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.063 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending April 4 was down 35,000 barrels per day.
Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol expanded to 27.034 million barrels the week ending April 4, up 422,000 barrels when compared to the 26.612 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending April 4 were up 826,000 barrels.
Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 174,000 barrels per day the week ending April 4, up 112,000 barrels per day when compared to the 62,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending April 4 were up 18,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending April 4.
