EIA: Ethanol production up 2%, stocks down 5%, exports down 45%


U.S. fuel ethanol output rose 2 % to 1.033 million b/d for the week ending 18 Apr, EIA data show—79,000 b/d above year‑ago levels. Inventories tightened 5 % to 25.48 million barrels, now 252,000 barrels below last year. Exports slid 45 % to 75,000 b/d, down 59,000 b/d year‑on‑year. No imports were recorded, signalling stronger domestic drawdown despite higher production.
U.S. fuel ethanol production was up 2% the week ending April 18, according to date released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on April 23. Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol were down 5% and exports were down 45%.
Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.033 million barrels per day the week ending April 18, up 21,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.012 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending April 18 was up 79,000 barrels per day.
Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol fell to 25.481 million barrels the week ending April 18, down 1.333 million barrels when compared to the 26.814 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending April 18 were down 252,000 barrels.
Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 75,000 barrels per day the week ending April 18, down 62,000 barrels per day when compared to the 137,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending April 18 were down 59,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending April 18.
