EIA weekly data: Ethanol production up 4%, stocks down 2%, exports down 18%


U.S. fuel ethanol production rose by 4% to 1.036 million barrels per day for the week ending May 16, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Ethanol stocks dropped 2% to 24.944 million barrels, while exports fell 18% to 94,000 barrels per day. No imports were recorded. Compared to last year, production and exports were slightly higher.
U.S. fuel ethanol production expanded by 4% the week ending May 16, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on May 21. Stocks of fuel ethanol were down 2% and exports fell by nearly 18%.
Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.036 million barrels per day the week ending May 16, up 43,000 barrels per day when compared to the 993,000 barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending May 16 was up 17,000 barrels per day.
Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol fell to 24.944 million barrels the week ending May 16, down 501,000 barrels when compared to the 25.445 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending May 16 were up 732,000 barrels.
Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 94,000 barrels per day the week ending May 16, down 20,000 barrels per day when compared to the 114,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending May 16 were up 11,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending May 16.
