Argentina completes wheat sowing for 2025/26 crop

Argentina completed 2025/26 wheat sowing on 6.7 million hectares, up 400,000 hectares from last year. With 99% of fields in good or excellent condition, analysts forecast a 20.5–21.2 million-ton harvest. Meanwhile, the corn harvest is 89.3% complete, maintaining output estimates at 49 million tons, reinforcing Argentina’s strong grain export position.

Argentina has successfully completed the wheat sowing for the 2025/26 crop. According to the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange, the total area sown was 6.7 million hectares, 400,000 hectares more than in the previous season. This growth indicates farmers’ confidence in favorable conditions for growing the crop, supported by optimal weather conditions and improved soil moisture.

The wheat crop looks extremely promising, with 99% of the area assessed as being in good or excellent condition. Experts say recent rainfall in key agricultural regions, particularly in the provinces of Buenos Aires, Santa Fe and Cordoba, has helped create ideal conditions for the crop. This gives reason to hope for a high harvest, which could reach 20.5-21.2 million tons, according to analysts’ forecasts.

In parallel, Argentina is continuing its corn harvest, reaching 89.3% of the planned area. The corn production forecast remains stable at 49 million tons, confirming the country’s strong position in the global grain market. The successful wheat planting and progress in the corn harvest reinforce Argentina’s status as one of the leading agricultural exporters.
