Grain harvest in Russia appreciated

Russia’s grain harvest has reached nearly 105 million tons, with forecasts holding at 135 million tons, Deputy PM Patrushev said via RIA Novosti. This would surpass 2024’s crop. Strong yields are also expected for sunflower, sugar beet, vegetables, and potatoes. Winter crops are already sown on almost 4 million hectares.

OREANDA-NEWS Russian farmers have harvested almost 105 million tons of grain. The harvest was appreciated by Deputy Prime Minister Patrushev, quoted by RIA Novosti.

According to the representative of the Cabinet of Ministers, the preliminary forecast of the harvest remains the same — it amounts to 135 million tons. If the forecast comes true, grain harvests will exceed last year’s figure by several million tons.

“Cleaning is actively underway… agricultural crops. Decent volumes of sunflower, sugar beet, as well as vegetables and potatoes in the organized sector are expected at or above the level of 2024,” Patrushev added.

Now farmers are also sowing winter crops. They were sown on an area of almost four million hectares.

The Ministry of Agriculture previously noted that over the past year, the average yield increased by 12 percent and reached 33.7 hundredweight per hectare. Wheat yields increased by 10 percent during the reporting period, and barley — by 17 percent. The ministry attributed this trend to the use of high-quality seeds, improved production efficiency and the use of high-quality mineral fertilizers.
