Algeria purchased 400 thsd tons of wheat
On October 15, Algeria’s state-owned OAIC purchased 400,000 tonnes of durum wheat, mostly Canadian Western Amber Durum, via tender. Prices were $324/ton for Panamax and $334/ton for Handymax deliveries. Shipment is scheduled for November 1–15 and 16–30 for European/Black Sea wheat, with South American or Australian wheat delayed by one month.
On October 15, the Algerian state-owned company OAIC purchased 400,000 tons of durum wheat of any origin through a tender, according to the Zerno On-Line news agency, citing European traders.
The purchase price was $324 per ton for delivery on Panamax vessels and $334 per ton for delivery on Handymax vessels.
According to traders, the majority of the purchased wheat was Canadian Western Amber Durum (No. 3 CWAD).
Under the tender terms, the wheat will be shipped from November 1-15 and November 16-30 if it is of European or Black Sea origin. For wheat from South America or Australia, the shipment dates will be shifted forward by one month.
