Corn harvest in France nears completion
Corn harvesting in France has reached 90% as of November 3, ahead of the five-year average. Crop conditions remain steady, with 59% rated good to excellent. Winter sowing is progressing well, with 87% of barley and 79% of wheat planted, both above average seasonal levels.
According to the French government agency FranceAgriMer, as of November 3, 90% of corn areas in France have been harvested, compared to 82% a week earlier. The current pace is also ahead of the five-year average of 85%.
The condition of corn crops remained stable over the past week: 59% are rated in good to excellent condition, 24% are in fair condition, and 16% are in poor or very poor condition.
As for winter crop sowing, by November 3, 87% of planned barley areas had been planted, up from 80% the previous week and above the five-year average of 85%.
Meanwhile, winter wheat sowing reached 79% of the planned area, compared to 68% the previous week, also exceeding the five-year average of 74%.
