Turkey has purchased a small batch of Ukrainian wheat amid complications in Russian grain logistics, according to market participants. This week, about 10–15 thousand tons of Ukrainian wheat with 12.5% protein were offered at around $252 per ton CIF Marmara, with the deal reportedly concluded at a slightly lower price level.
Traders note that the purchase is likely temporary, as some Turkish buyers expect to continue sourcing wheat from the Turkish Grain Board (TMO), which currently offers the most competitive prices. The shift toward Ukrainian origin was driven by firmer Russian wheat prices caused by freight disruptions and seasonal winter logistics constraints affecting shipments from Russia.
